Daily sketch and journal page studio · Logan, Utah

One page pinned. Every single day. Sketched

Creations DayByDay, LLC is a small studio at 363 E 200 N, Logan - 84321-4102, United States (US) where a single journal page is drawn, dated and clipped to the rail before the day ends. We keep a working library of finished pages, so a commission can be matched to the tone of a season, a milestone or an ordinary Tuesday. Marked days are finished pages. The blank squares are the ones we are still drawing.

Today on the journal rail

Blank page clipped, date ruled in, pencil sharpened. The rail holds the day in progress and the day just finished, so nobody has to wonder where the work stands.

Six ways the studio fills a day

Each service below runs on the same rule: one page a day, finished before the studio lights go down. Cards hang at different heights because they were pinned on different weeks, not because the list needed decoration.

Daily Page Commissions

A commission reserves one calendar date and one full journal page. You send the subject, the tone and any date that matters, and the studio draws that page in graphite and ink, dates it, and photographs it under the north window before it is clipped to the rail. Finished originals ship flat in a rigid mailer with the working pencil sheet tucked behind.

Printed Page Sets

Printed page sets take a month, a season or a finished journal and turn it into a matched stack of numbered sheets on warm cotton stock. Sets are printed in the studio on a small press, trimmed by hand and collated in drawing order so the stack reads like a book without a spine.

Journal Kit Assembly

A journal kit arrives as a working box: a blank ruled journal, a short pencil, a fine liner, a dated index card and a printed card explaining the one page a day habit in plain steps. Kits are assembled by hand, checked against a small list, and packed so the box can be reopened without tearing.

Sketch Framing Service

Sketch framing gives a finished page a proper edge. We measure the page, cut a mat with a generous bottom weight, set the sheet against an acid free backing and close the frame with a paper dust cover and a hanging wire. Frames are chosen in the studio from a small stock of plain timber profiles.

Studio Open Page Days

Open page days are scheduled afternoons when the studio rail is cleared and the long table is set with paper, pencils and ink. Guests draw one page, date it and hang it beside the work already on the board. No experience is needed and no page leaves the room unless the guest wants to take it home.

Gift Page Bundles

A gift page bundle pairs a dated original page with a short printed note explaining the moment it marks. Bundles are wrapped in waxed paper, tied with cotton string and finished with a small amber sticker so the parcel reads clearly before the paper is opened. We ship bundles on the date you choose.

The studio habit

A daily page is a small promise that keeps its word

Most commissions begin with a sentence that is hard to draw: the first morning in a new house, the last walk with an old dog, the kitchen where everyone argues about the same recipe. The studio receives that sentence and breaks it into a single frame, because one page can hold a room, a hand or a window without turning sentimental. That constraint is the whole method. If a thing cannot be seen in one page, it becomes two pages on two dates, and the dates are marked in the calendar check grid above.

The pencil work happens first and stays loose. Creations DayByDay, LLC keeps every underdrawing, and a commission ships with the drawing sheet folded behind the finished page. Ink comes next, applied with a fine liner and a brush pen, and the date is ruled at the foot of the page with a straight edge. Nothing is traced from a photograph without redrawing it by hand, because a trace flattens a room and a room is rarely flat.

Once the page is dry it is photographed under the north window of the Logan studio at 363 E 200 N, Logan - 84321-4102, United States (US). The photograph becomes the proof the client approves, and the original stays on the rail until it is packed. We keep a working archive of finished pages so a new commission can be matched to the weight of line and depth of shadow that a client already likes. The archive is also why printed page sets can be offered at all: the set is drawn from pages that already exist rather than invented to fill a catalogue.

Creations DayByDay, LLC opens its winter print window for printed page sets, journal kit assembly and gift page bundles, and the calendar check grid takes new dates through the season.

Who the studio draws for

Families in Cache Valley and far beyond send us the small scenes they do not want to lose. Local clients often walk a page in by appointment; distant clients send photographs and a written description, then approve the proof by email. The work is the same either way, and the calendar check grid keeps both schedules honest.

We also serve small businesses that want a dated page as a wall piece in a lobby or a treatment room. Those commissions are usually ordered as a printed page set so the original can stay in the archive while a clean numbered sheet hangs where people can see it. Originals never leave the archive unless a client has bought them outright, which keeps the reference library intact.

How a date is chosen

A date on the rail is claimed when a commission is confirmed, not when it is paid, so the calendar check grid always shows real work in progress. If two clients want the same day, the earlier confirmation keeps the date and the second client is offered the next open slot. We will tell you plainly when a week is full rather than promise a page we cannot finish.

Printed page sets and journal kit assembly do not consume a drawing date, so they can be scheduled around commissions. Sketch framing follows the finished page and usually adds three to five working days. Gift page bundles are packed on the date you choose and shipped the same afternoon when the parcel leaves with the carrier.

What you receive

A daily page commission includes the original page, the pencil underdrawing, a proof photograph and a short written note about the scene. A printed page set includes numbered sheets, a printed index card listing the dates in order and a stiff folder. A journal kit includes the journal, tools, index card and the printed habit guide.

Framing includes the frame, mat, backing, dust cover and hanging wire. Open page days include paper, tools and a spot at the long table. Gift page bundles include the dated page, the printed note, waxed paper, string and a sticker seal. Every service has a plain confirmation email that states the date, the price and what is included, so there is nothing to guess.
